dealing with the hot weather from a dogs point of view

Just wanted you to see how hard Barney and Nin are working in this heat ~ I am sure they put the rest of us to shame ~

The thistle grew so quickly and is covered in blossom and seems to attract the Bees so we are leaving it there for the time being ~

We have company for a few days Anna ~ Rob and Leo have come to stay and Leo has grown so much since we last saw him and is nearly walking on his own ~ just a help in hand from his Daddy ~

I just love this weather we are having at the moment it seems the Sun is here to stay for a few days enjoy it while we can ~

Do you remember when it was cold and snowing just thought you would like a reminder ~

Drinking lots of ice water
that part I really like about hot
weather. Vincent, 11, took apart
our big fan, removed the dirt and
grey fluff stuff accumulated, so
now the fan is three times faster.
The airconditioner in the bedroom
we save for even hotter weather.
(Afraid of getting a cold.)
No dogs to cool off yet, ha ha ha ha.
(It's hot in England??!?)

Hello Ally - awww Barney and Nin look so cute all stretched out - and i love those butterfly lights, did lynn get them from the garden centre?    We are enjoying this weather too, but i have just heard that giant hailstones are on the way - now do you think that you posting that snowy scene had anything to do with that ?   eh?

Love the snow scene.  The dogs look all wrung out by the heat, like Gabi is.  It's actually cooler here today and supposed to get cooler as the week progresses.  I love those butterfly lights...I want some. But, I've never seen them around here.  Linda in WA

Hi Ally,

Sandra here!  I`m using Kerry`s PC as mine has crashed with a virus.  It doesn`t look good either.  For the time being I`m using Kerry`s PC, hence the different screenname.  I do wish it would cool down somewhat, I`m melting here and I`m afraid I might just fade away...lol! :o)

I'm back Ally.Wow! what a wonderful set of cushions Barney and Nin have scattered around them, they look so pretty.Bet them two dogs are treat like royalty lol!! They both look a lot like I have felt this last week !! I like thistles, and all wild plants, the othe plant looks very much like the wild plant Achilleas, though |I only grew yellow ones,so a little unsure.Maybe you have a rare type.who knows? Lets say with your selection of flowers,in the garden it's possible haa!! I bet it is so nice and a change for you, to have some company around.Children at that age are so cute and cuddly, funny too.The winter scene is beautiful,I love all the 4 seasons.More so the cooler weather, for my skin.Thankyou so much for the get well message.A lovely entry.I so enjoyed it!! OH!! and the sola lights remind me of my sister,I named her the Elusive  Butterfly,as she is always tripping off somewhere, and never in when i ring her.but at 71yrs old ,why not if she is able.I will have to search around for some of those. They would make a brilliant namesake present for her.Thankyou for the idea LOL!!
Take Care.Astoriasand.

Barney and Nin, you have to hand it to them, puts us all to shame working like that!  Our Sally thinks the coolest way is on her back with her legs in the air.  Would that we could all be so carefree!!! - lol

I had heard that you were having a heat wave there and they wonted to band men from going shirtless

Ally,
Thanks for the snowy reminder, after such hot and humid days....staying cool is a challenge. Love the photo's of Barney and Nin. Thistle is a beautiful 'weed', and they do grow very fast. The other plant is Queen Anne's Lace, ants love them.

Barney and Nin are certainly bachelor's of leisure!    It will be in the mid 90'sF here today and high humidity.    I am ready to try working in the heat again as I took all last week off due to my back pain.    My low lumbar is better and I hope it does not get sharp pain again.  I spoke to my mother and she will be going to Northern Illinois this week and perhaps my nephew and some family members will be coming down to see me.    I will find out when she gets up there which is over 300 miles from me or about a 7 hour drive.    mark
