1st year

Today 1 year ago I started my journal ~ never thought at the time how addictive this was going to be ~ but it is part of my daily life now ~ Although I don't do an entry every day I always like to comment on the journals that I read  daily ~

I just wanted to thank all of you who read and comment and to tell you how much I appreciate you dropping by ~

Also Linda in Sunny Washington Thank you for my post card which I received yesterday of "Old Tacoma" and I agree the old buildings are beautiful ~

It is still Hot and Humid here although the sky today is quite cloudy and last night there was a lot of lightening and thunder ~ but I didn't see any rain ~

The picture's are of Horse Trials that took place in the field at the end of our lane ~ They were using several of the fields do do different  trials in ~ I don't understand the rules for this ~ but just love to watch the horses and their riders ~

Happy Anniversary Ally.
Journaling in this community
can become quite addicting, right?

The "addictive" aspect of journal
keeping can be seen as a variation
of the Ancient Greek's observation,
"An unexamined life is not worth living."
I believe there can be a therapeutic
benefit. I've just read an essay by
an academic who claims that 'addictive'
music composition by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky,
Mozart and others can be shown to have been
'lifesavers.' Tchaikovsky wrote, "Without
music I would go insane." Journal keeping
could be seen as a form of music composition:
especially in the case of Ally!

Happy 1st Anniversary !! Keep up the good work.   I guess mine is just a few month older than your.   It is interesting that your weather is like ours today.  Cloud cover, no sun still 75 degrees at 8am amd very humid.  I wish it would rain so the air would clear. Linda in WA

Congratulations on one year of writing, it is incredible it is that long already, time certainly flies.  Liked the piccies but look at that grass, so parched and brown.  Never known a summer like this since 1976.  The garden should have been lovely this year but the weather has put paid to that!!!

I can remember when you were starting your journal and you didn't know if you had anything of interest to write about.   Now so many people have gotten to know so much about your life.   I find your journal to be interesting and I enjoy all your photos, especially Barney and Nin!   Great photos of the event with the horses and riders!   mark
