Flowers and the Boys in the Garden

Saturday has come round quickly ~

Thursday Lyn ~ Tom ~ Cress and myself met up to have lunch at the Red Lion ~ really had a nice time chatting and enjoying each others company ~ must do that more often ~ and as the children were at school it was a nice 'no hurry' meal

Friday now what did I get up to Friday ~ went out in my little KA ~ and driving her didn't feel quite right ~ so pulled into a  Garage that we use just down the road from here~ M took her for a quick spin and came back told me the front brakes need new brake pads so that is booked in for Tuesday morning at 9am.

Was a bit concerned to learn Bird Flu has been found  just 6 miles  from here ~ One of the workers has caught it in the form of conjunctivis ~ they are telling us it is the milder form ~ Mild or not don't like to think of all those thousands of chickens having to be slaughtered ~

Today the Sun is shining ~ and will be going shopping later and for a drive round the coast perhaps have lunch "Fish and Chips "  in one of the many pubs along our coast line ~ may even go for a pub lunch and a pint (Shandy) of course

If Oddy (barry) http://journals.aol.co.uk/oddb0dkins/WaffleandWhinge/  can do it so can I

Nin and Barney had to go in the bath every day this week

Hi Ally!

I actually saw a dog doing that last week, right on the edge of the highway.  At first I couldn't figure out what it was doing.  Then as I got closer (driving) he picked up the flat as a pancake, stiff dead thing and ran off with it.  Eeeewww!

I remember Shandy....good stuff!

Hugs
Darlene

Hi Ally.
I like your pictures of the garden and your dogs. I have now finished the pruning, cutting back feeding and have cut the grass 3 times so far. Win and I have even sat out in it on Friday with a cup of tea each and me with a book. All I have to do from now on is water and cut the grass. Dan

Hi Ally,  I thought of you this morning when I read about Bird Flu in Norfolk.  I`m really pleased it`s only a mild strain, but those poor chickens......   Lovely photos of Nin and Barney enjoying themselves in the garden, I wish I could bath Jake more often but he won`t fit in the kitchen sink....lolol! :o)

I enjoyed the photo's and names of the flowers.    I guess the rolling by Nin and Barney is not as innocent as it looks since they required daily bath's afterwards  lol   .        The bird flu is so prominent on the minds of everyone and I hope that science will keep it at bay.     Hopefully Mad Cow will be a thing of the past.   I have to get my riding lawnmower going soon as I have been concentrating on the trim and soffit of my new addition.    Once that is done I will be able to open it to my cabin.    Mark

Shandy? Yeah, right! Lol. There's nothing quite like eating out is there? The food tastes so much better when you don't have to cook it yourself.
scary news about the bird flu. B. x

Hey there, Ally ...  Sounds as though life is good !  Glad you've been getting some nice weather, and are able to get out and enjoy your garden.  I'm just getting started on my yard, and I've got my work cut out for me !  Scary about that bird flu thing.  Cropping up everywhere now.
I stopped by Barry's place.  Was a fun read, and looking forward to a return visit ... thanks for sharing the link.
You take care, Ally, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Hugs, Tina

Like the photos, sounds like you had a lovely day Thursday, I know what you mean about Oddb0dkins!  Just read an entry of his and wondered why there was no mention of his 'pub lunch' then read yours and laughed when you referred to him! You've noticed too have you!  Don't forget to comment on the meal too, just has he often does. There may be a new career here for the pair of you, reviewing pub meals across the country!!

Ally
I enjoyed the pictures very much.  It would be a scare for anyone to hear that Bird Flu has been found nearby.  I hope it is contained and islolated.  Glad to hear you had a nice time at the Red Lion with your friends.  You'll have to fill me in a little more about these "pub lunches" LOL!
