Rainbows and Norwich

It is a sometimes forgotten fact that Norwich has two cathedrals. St. John the Baptist’s Cathedral stands on one of the highest points in Norwich on Unthank Road and is an imposing sight. The building work on St. John’s was started in 1882 and financed by Henry Fitzalan Howard, the 15th Duke of Norfolk, who offered the money as an act of his thanksgiving for his happy marriage to his wife, Lady Flora. She is even commemorated in the St. Joseph’s Chapel where each window depicts one of her names.

Thought you might like to see some pictures of my home City

Thats where that little field mouse went  ~   didn't realize Barney had chased it up a tree ~

PS Just had to sneak in the Rainbow pictures ~

What a beautiful place in which to live and pray.
What might happen if one went to each cathedral
on alternate Sundays? Lol.

I enjoyed all the pictures!!!!!! Our church is called St John the Baptist too but not nearly as pretty as yours. Ours is much smaller and we will be building a new one because its so small but we will be putting the stained glass windows in the new church.... :) Sandra

Love the pictures, Ally.  I hear that Norwich Castle has the worlds largest teapot collection .... I would love to see that !  What a beautiful area you live in.  I wish I would have had more time to explore when I was in England last July.  I'd like to come back and spend some more time in the countryside, and also see some of the coastal towns.   Tina

Hi Ally!    Pictures? What pictures?  All I got was the graphic and captions.  My computer has been very slow the last couple days, so I don't know what is going on.  Maybe it's just tired. lol  Ally if you ever get to Christ Church Park take some pictures of it for me.  I think that's the most beautiful park ever!

PS It's not the Asst Mgr, she's the one that is really trying to help me. It's another  teller, and she even gives me good advice. Which would be a great help...if she just wouldn't tattle!  :(    Thanks :)

Big Hugs!
Darlene
