It is a sometimes forgotten fact that Norwich has two cathedrals. St. John the Baptist’s Cathedral stands on one of the highest points in Norwich on Unthank Road and is an imposing sight. The building work on St. John’s was started in 1882 and financed by Henry Fitzalan Howard, the 15th Duke of Norfolk, who offered the money as an act of his thanksgiving for his happy marriage to his wife, Lady Flora. She is even commemorated in the St. Joseph’s Chapel where each window depicts one of her names.

Love the rainbow pics!! Have been out getting some pics myself, only could not get the Weekley Post Office as there was a horse outside that had run amok so the road was closed!
As you know i love my day or two in Norwich when we are down for our holidays. We intend to visit the Cathedral this year as we have never been only passed by so it will be nice to go inside. Thanks again for your help earlier. Love joan.

I enjoyed all the pictures!!!!!! Our church is called St John the Baptist too but not nearly as pretty as yours. Ours is much smaller and we will be building a new one because its so small but we will be putting the stained glass windows in the new church.... :) Sandra

I wish I would have had more time to explore when I was in England last July. I'd like to come back and spend some more time in the countryside, and also see some of the coastal towns. Tina
aye ally norwich gets too much " DELIA " publicity and we tend tae forget just how pretty n historical important NORWICH is and has been ! As a next door neighbour in SLEAFORD Lincolnshire we go out in the car and visit beautiful Norfolk as much as possible

Hi Ally! Pictures? What pictures? All I got was the graphic and captions. My computer has been very slow the last couple days, so I don't know what is going on. Maybe it's just tired. lol Ally if you ever get to Christ Church Park take some pictures of it for me. I think that's the most beautiful park ever!
PS It's not the Asst Mgr, she's the one that is really trying to help me. It's another teller, and she even gives me good advice. Which would be a great help...if she just wouldn't tattle! :( Thanks :)
