a bitter pill to take

I had to go see my Doctor over a month ago now to get my prescription signed ~ while there he suggested I would be a prime candidate for a pill to help my bones ~ it only has to be taken once a week so I didn't mind that ~ anyway I picked up a packet on my way out of the Surgery ~ and took one the next morning
~
I didn't expect to feel any different I think it is supposed to help bone structure ~ But as he had suggested I take them I did so

~ after the third week I was feeling really grotty ~ I had a pain just under my right arm and could not get comfortable whichever way I tried to lay or sit ~ and was having a little bit of difficulty breathing deeply ~ so was having to use my inhaler more often than I would normally ~

after a few days the pain moved sides and was now under my left arm but still just as painfull ~ and I ached in places I didn't know existed ~ and I dare not go too far from the bathroom
~ Reading the side effects  they claim they are very rare well I think I have just about suffered half of them ~ bearing in mind when I went to the Doctors I was feeling just fine

~ I have been reading journals and commenting but we have had so many problems with aol I don't know if half of them got through ~ I get half way through commenting and get cut off from aol ~ then can't get into a journal to make a comment ~ I am on the mend now so perhaps will be able to concentrate better ~ So please forgive me if my comment went amiss

Hi Ally,  I wondered where you were.  Those tablets really sound as though they disagree with you, are you still taking them or have you just got used to them?  If they are making you ill you`re certainly better off without them,  take care . :o)

Hugs

Sandra xxxx

PS:  what a pretty `wild` part of your garden. :o)

Good To read you are back Ally, we all seem to haved missed you!!!!! I think almost all tablets I have taken over the last ten yrs, have not had very nice side affects. For the first time my doc has just found one that agrees with me thank goodness. After three months on them I still have no side affects so I am realy pleased.I would have a word, if you havn't done already. You can do without all them pains appearing. The pictures are so lovely,of the garden.I love honeysuckles.Hope you soon feel much better.I think most of us in the journals I follow, are not too good just now,we all want shaking up in a bag LOL!!!Take Care Oh!! by the way,AOL has been very unkind to  lots of my friends lately,I myself if you remember. had lots of probs last week.
Take Care Astoriasand.

hi Ally...

hope you get well soon...I had some tabs given to me roughly ten years ago now for my Asthma called "Phylocontin" to help me with my breathing but, they made me cough up blood so, I stopped them. they made me feel so ill...I think they just try the tabs out on us and hope they will work...you take care!

it seems every pill has many side effects for the 1 thing its supposed to help...maybe just calcium pills would have been better.... Hope you are feeling a lot better now, Sandra

In age it'd be wicked to not
take vitamins and some supplements.
I believe in them. Especially if taken
in conjunction with lots   L   O   T   S
of exercize. Do you own a pair of running
shoes?  For women, they say, Saucony
is best. They are also good for walking,
of course. Vitamins, of course, do their
work via circulation of the blood. Even
your eyesight will get better from taking
vitamins in conjunction with exercize.
(You've said nothing about a wheelchair, ha.)

Hey Ally!

Those "calcium" type meds can cause a lot of negative side effects.  I hope you have called your Doc and stopped that bitter pill.

I use a nasal spray.  The pills are just impossible to digest.

Hope you feel better.  And yes, AOL does bite;0)

Sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time of it with that new medication. I believe there are all kinds of treatments that can be used to up calcium....some people swear by coral calcium, a more natural approach. I hope you have told the doctor how this is affecting you....be better...Sandi

I take my fosamax once a week for bones and haven't had a problem but did hear bad publicity about it on TV. My doctor told me to keep taking it as there are side effects to all medicine. Have had good reports about my bones lately. Paula

Love your flower pics! I hope you feel better soon. Yeah, US AOL is losing its mind too.

Oh, Ally, I am so sorry that you haven't been feeling well.  That's a shame about the pills.  Who would ever think that they would affect you that way?  I seem to be one of those people who have trouble taking certain things, too.  Maybe we are just wired differently ?  Well, lets hope that you get that cleared up soon.  It's not fun to feel so poorly.  Take care of yourself.  Luv and get well hugs, Tina

Hope you're feeling better now - I took a pill to give up smoking, which I managed for a month, and then had the most awful (supposedly rare) side effects - head to toe rash which itched like fury and was really everywhere.  Needless to say I stopped taking them, and promptly started smoking again...oh well, at least I had a month off!  Keep smiling. Jenny

Hope you went back to the doc and told him how you were feeling and also stopped taking those pills!     Hoping to hear you are ok again..Eve

Pills do not agree with everyone, what suits one will not suit another and it sounds as if these are certainly not right for you. Aol has been a nightmare lately.  The service gets ever worse.  Wonderful pictures of your garden.

Oh, Ally, I am so sorry you are having a tough time with your tablets.  Is it Fosamax you're taking? I've taken that for several years and no adverse effects so I hope you'll be seeing your doc about it because there are other things he can prescribe.  Fosamax (aka Alendronic Acid) are not a calcium providing drug.  You usually have to take a calcium supplement like Calcichew.  Hope you're feeling better by now.  Love, Angie, xx
