"Blue" KA

Lady was a special Yorkshire Terrier who we had the privilege of being her owners from a puppy to 17 years old ~ she was so tiny when we went to collect her and she fitted into my hand ~

She favoured Dick to me and would follow him everywhere ~ he even took her to work with him ~ and when he couldn't take her he would nip home a couple of times during the day ~ just to let her in the garden ~

One day on  going home he saw a fire engine parked outside our bungalow ~ and our Grandson was there ~ seemed he had just dropped by in case anyone was home ~ but could see a lot of smoke in the kitchen ~ but couldn't get in ~ and was worried because he knew Lady was inside ~ so he called the Fire Brigade

Every where was Locked and they could only get in through the bathroom window ~ that had been left slightly open ~goodness knows how the Large fireman managed to get through such a small space ~ thankfully he did ~ so they didn't have to break a window ~

Seems we had left in a rush that morning and had left a pan on the stove which was burning and gushing smoke ~

Luckily Lady was OK ~ and had no ill effects ~

The next day we noticed the Firemen had left their ladder at the Bathroom window ~ so they had to come back for it ~ which pleased the children as they got to climb all over the Fire Engine ~ and they met the Firemen ~ who were just great with them ~

Just to add a footnote my little Ka passed the MOT today so I shall keep her ~ Well I never intended getting rid on her anyway ~

Thanks Laine for my lovely tag ~

Our pets seems to be able to wrap our hearts, well not with their fingers...maybe their tails....they dont' ask for anything but kindness...a full bowl..and a run in the yard from time to time....and give us so much to be thankful for....Hugs from KY..Ora

What a lucky escape. Love the pic, even if it is of a Yorkie ;o) (Ask any postie about dogs and they'll all say the same:the little ones are the worst).

what a nice story and I'm glad everything turned out so good... The same thing happened to my son about leaving the pan on the stove but it killed their bird because of the fumes.... I bet you have never left a  pan on the stove again... That was a very sweet dog you had. Sandra

Lady looks lovely and I could listen to you reminiscencing all day!  Sadly my brother's dog 'Frankie' - a yorkshire terrier too - died last Thursday of a brain tumour. She was a temperamental dog, I always joked that she had psychological problems!! We will miss her though as she was such a character. xx

Hi Ally,  Little Lady seemed like a lovely thing dog.  Our neighbour used to have a Yorkshire terrier called Misty and she was a little darling who didn`t usually like men, but believe it or not adored Jim!  It was really sad when she passed on.  I`m glad to hear that you`re keeping your beloved Ka.  My Clio will stay with me until she falls to pieces...lol!  :o)

When I clicked on "view larger" I almost
had an out-of-body experience! On my
screen I couldn't see Lady too well, but larger
there was the spitting image of my grandmother's
dog in Australia. I felt you'd 'beamed me up' ha ha ha.
so, I'm pretty sure I can report that Yorkshire
Terriers did inded reach the penal colony on the
East Side of Van Deimen's Land. (sp?)
