We were on Holiday in Scotland a little place called Laggan
We had hired a holiday cottage and were really surprised when we eventually found it ~ it was just lovely set way back from the Road and it was delightful it had a real fireplace and logs were ready to light a fire.
Although the weather was Sunny and warm we decided to light it. just to see the flames go up the chimney
The cottage was well equipped ~ washing machine ~ fully stocked fridge ~ every thing you would have at home ~ nothing had been forgotten ~ even down to washing powder ~ the Beds had been freshly changed and it was just perfect.
We had Roxy and Nin with us ~ Nin was just a pup ~ and this was the last holiday we had with Richard Lyns Hubby ~ as he died before we had arranged another holiday.
When I first started my Blog it was because I wanted to write about me having Cancer the treatment I received left me with a dodgy right leg and from an accident I had earlier in my life I already had a bad right foot so running was the last thing I thought I would ever do.
Roxy was getting quite old ~ and we never had to put him on a lead as he was so well behaved ~ but what we did not realise was he was becoming deaf ~ we took both Nin and Roxy for a walk Nin was on a lead but Roxy was not ~ all of a sudden a baby Rabbit ran in front of us ~ Roxy just took off after it ~ we called him back but of course he could not hear us and continued his chase ~ Well I ran after him did not want to lose him in Scotland ~ sure he wouldn't find his way home ~ I eventually caught up with him ~ the baby rabbit had got away and Roxy looked quite disappointed ~ but I have yet to know where I got the energy to chase him from ~
Lyn and me have often laughed about it as Lyns words to me echo in my brain "No Roxy don't need to go on a lead ~ he never runs away"

These are lovely memories...........where is Laggan?
Famous last words huh? "He never runs away". Amazing how we can get energy when we feel we have to. Sounds like a lovely place to spend a holiday. Paula
Lovely story Ally did you know that you were in the same valley as they make Monarch of the Glen the TV program. Love joan.
That was lovely Ally, maybe you didn`t even think about and you started to run anyway. Poor Lyn, she`ll never live that down, but then you wouldn`t expect an old dog to take off like that...lol! :o))

Maybe you need a jog and Roxy knew it. Kidding aside, this is a great entry. I've never been to Scotland and your description of the lovely time you had there made me want to go there.
You found that strength because you loved the dog...sometimes we all manage to go above and beyond what we think we can....Sandi

Hi Ally!
Glad your cancer is in the past! Your little holiday cottage sounds perfect. Even the fridge was stocked???? Can't get any better than that! We've rented cottages here in the States (Tennessee) and it was stocked with bed linen, furniture, and dishes, but no food!!! That's really above and beyond the call of duty! lol
Glad you had a good time!
Take Care

Hey, Ally .... When I read this entry I realized that I didn't know of your journal when you first started writing, so I spent some time reading those first journal entries. I feel like I know you so much better now, and I was surprised to find out that you survived cancer. How wonderful for you, and for ME .... because I have been able to enjoy your friendship ! I hope you enjoy many more years of good health ... and of love, laughter and friendship ! Luv, Tina

That is a blessing that you were able to survive and be free from the cancer. I enjoyed the story about running after Roxy. I can remember some of the rustic places that I went to on vacation with the family and living in them for a short time brings back memories. mark
