Dogs and Cars

Whichever Vacuum cleaner we choose to use ~ Barney always has to have a fight with it ~ Nin usually just sits and watches ~ but decided to join in this time ~ we call this vacuum Henry and it is the one we use in the garage and to clean the cars ~ but had the bright idea if we left it running Barney would get used to the noise  ~  but it didn't work ~ he even got his tongue caught in the hose but that hasn't put him off ~ maybe it has made him worse ~

Ended up having to put them in their cages in the car to be able to finish cleaning ~

Lyn has changed her car today ~ she still has her SURF but is going to get it cleaned and serviced then put it up for sale ~

Her new car is a Land Rover "Freelander" I think that is the right name ~ will take a picture of it later ~

They keep asking me to change my little KA ~ but I have had it for eight years and never had any trouble with it ~ I remember how well it started after standing in the snow for nearly a week ~ it is due for it's MOT next week ~ and has only done 45,000 miles ~ and I really can't imagine being without her ~

How sad is that to get attached to a car ~ can always remember selling my little Mini the first car I ever owned ~ hope I am not the only one like this about their car ~

Hope Nin made a good job of the hoovering.  I remember Richard used to cry as a child when we changed cars.  He now drives a Freeland. Love Joan.

My mother-in-law's dog used to attack the hoover, the first time he did it when I was hoovering I nearly jumped out of my skin!  You are not alone in getting attached to your car. I have a zafira as the 7 seats were essential when ferrying all the boys but since the eldest has his own car and number 2 is having lessons I don't really need it now. However, like you I am attached and after 4 years of no trouble I tend to think 'if it aint broke don't try to fix it'. I haven't got a name for my car though, now that would be sad... xx

Dogs!!   Have to love them  :)   You reminded me of the dog I had growing up and it wasn't vaccum cleaners he chased it was always cars ~ it would scare me to death when he would do this.  I'm glad we now keep our dogs on a leash when out for a walk.

Ally, I love cars and everything about them....I cried when I sold my first car..an escort mk1; it only fired on 3 cylinders and was cranky as hell but I loved it!!

Jesse always tries to attack the cleaner, Jack just hides.  No, Mike remembers all his old cars and we both remember with affection the car he had when we were courting.  Pity we had to sell it to raise a deposit on our first house.  That car would be worth a fortune today - E type Jag!

Love the pics Ally !!! My Pins runs from the hoover but Pepper jumps up and runs around ~ she seems to love it LOL  And I am very attached to my car ~ even though I don't like driving much !!! But I'd still be lost without her :-)  Might like driving more if I had a Freelander though :-)
Take care, love n hugs ~x Debbie x~

PS How is Sammy now ?

Hi Ally, as for the dogs, I've never been a fan of Jack Russels so I hope the hoover wins out, lol.
But I don't think you should change your car. Whe you find one that you like and it runs okay - run it into the ground before changing it, that's my advice.
Good luck with the MOT. B. x

Hang on to your Ka Ally.  We stick with Hondas and change about every 18 months as I fall in and out of love with them all.....fickle me!  At the moment we have the Stream which turned out not to be a popular car and was replaced by the FRV.  I have my eye on The new Rolls Royce Phantom...in my dreams!!  Eve

My cats  like to follow the hoover round too! Hang on to the Ka, you could get a new one and have nothing but trouble from it. Jeannette.

That is humorous that Barney got his tongue stuck in the hose.  lol   My dog Salty does not like noises at all and stays away from the vacuum.    Keep your car if it is running fine and has low miles like it does.    You will not get the value it is worth and will have to pay a lot of money for a new one that will depreciate in several years.   mark

You aren't the only one. I get very attached. Hope your daughter enjoys hers. Paula

Hey, Ally .... I loved my first car, and wish I still had it.  Only had it for a year when it was totalled in an accident.  What a shame.  Oh, well .... at least I wasn't totalled with it, so I am a lucky gal.  That model car is now a collecters item, and is worth many times more than what I paid for it, all those years ago.  So .... I can understand your attachment !   Tina

As usual, a fun start to your entry:  GET THAT VACUUM!   LOL

I can assure you that you are not alone in the car-attachment department. I have a 1997 Ford Explorer with 150,000 miles on it, and I feel as though it's a friend! I cannot imagine what life will be like without my Explorer!

Hi Ally,  Love the photos, if you keep trying you might get Nin to do the vacuuming for you everyday...lol!  I love those Henry`s, they are such good little cleaners.  I`ve had my Clio for nearly 8 yrs and she has almost done 45,000 mls too.  I`ve not had any real problems with her and would only ever trade her in if she fell to pieces...lol! :o)

My dog will have nothing to do with the vacumn. Nothing!
She's such a girlie girl.
Your two doggies are brave ones;0)

I always get attached to my cars.  Especially if they serve me well.
But then a new one is always nice...
The Land Rover Freelander is a nice ride.  Lyn will love it.

Have a lovely Sunday-
Niki
