Shopping

Can you believe the pictures above were only taken a few days ago..when the snow was coming down quite heavily.

Today the Sun has been shining all day, and every trace of snow has disappeared, even the snowman we built in the front garden has gone - the only signs of him ever being there is the carrot we used for his nose...and two big black stones that were his eyes...

Had to Drive to the Supermarket today as we had run out of milk and bread, went to Asda's thinking it would be quite slow today, as everyone we thought had stocked up for Christmas and New Year.

How wrong we were, it was packed - parking was hard to find, not one disabled bay was free, but luckily a car pulled out of a spot quite near the entrace, so we pulled in there..

After we had finished shopping, we went into MacDonalds as we were both a bit hungry - Lyn had a Chicken Sandwich and I had some Chicken Nuggets...4 of which I ate, leaving two in the box 1 for Nin and 1 for Barney...

I placed them in a bag ...with the other shopping we had done, and forgot about them.

When we arrived home took the Milk and bread out of the bag, and got on making a cup of tea...which is a must after shopping.

Later Remembering the Chicken nuggets - went to the bag to get the box to give one each to the boys,  they had gone!!!!!, and Barney was licking his lips, when I pointed to the box and told him he was a naughty boy. (or words to that effect) he went to his basket and hid his head under his paws...

Nin looked sad - so went to the fridge and gave him a piece of chicken left over from Lunch...

So Barney is in the dog house, and he knows it....he keeps creeping out from his basket hoping to be fussed, maybe Iwill later, but not at the moment.

Lol, dogs will be dogs.  How sweet of him to hide like that and glad the other one got a piece of chicken. I suspect that many people bought enough food to see them through Christmas and the New Year and have now run out!
Seems so strange that Christmas was last year.  No sun here, it has been gloomy and miserable all day with drizzle and cold, the damp cold that gets into your bones.  I would prefer snow, at least that makes everything so bright.

Funny English people - nothing is open here today - not supermarkets or anything and tomorrow is a holiday as well.

Salty and I went for a walk to the little lake near home which is a mile round trip.   He would still be exploring every scent if he could.  Today I am   laying down on my board and cushion reading.   I can not concentrate for more than 15 minutes, right now not even 5 min. sitting in the chair.   It is so warm today that it feels like summer.    My arthritis feels worse because of it.   Yesterday I finished crawling in the dirt under my addition floor filling in seams that block the air under the floor to the outside.   I have to crawl under one more time to put up the wires holding in fiberglas insulation between the floor joists.  Then the floor panels can be put back in place.   Today I do not feel like bending much and will read.   I realize how important reading is for improvement of my thinking capabilities.   I will do my sit-up exercises after awhile as they are helping my back I can tell.   Barney holding his paws over his head would have been a good photo! lol   mark

Ah! Go on, give Barney a cuddle and make up!! He was only using his initiative!! I bet you're glad the snow's gone, can't understand why all those people were out shopping today. Apart from cat food I have enough to last me the month! I don't shop often and have decided to eat all the food in the cupboard before I get any more in.     Ahhh, naughty Barney !  Let's hope he has found his way out of the doghouse and into your good graces again.  I loved seeing the pictures of the snow.  It's something we just don't get here in Southern California, except for the mountain areas.  I miss it around the holidays.  We are getting drenched in rain, though .... looks like another season of the wet stuff is upon us.  Getting out my raincoat and boots, and my umbrella, of course.  Now I'm all ready to go !  Tina http://journals.aol.com/onemoretina/Ridealongwithme
