Proof if you need it

I have always believed that Children like Box's better than it's contents...and to prove my point the two pictures above clearly uphold my belief...

That Box was played with on every visit  the Grandchildren made.....It had a window so you could see out - and holes where the arms could go through..it was carefully put in the Garage each time before they left  -

Until the next visit  when it was the first thing to come out to be played with - it was a "Space Ship" - a "Boat "-A "plane" a "train" and  "Tank" - but it fitted in to every game they played whatever they wanted it to be It became..

Until it eventually fell apart and was disguarded to the rubbish bin.

Now they are looking for another box seems they must have one to continue there games.. but the box needs to be a bit bigger than the last one...as they have grown a few inches since then.

What fun they had with that old box...and their Grand dad

It is always the simple things that children like the most isn't it?

You'll have to buy yourself something first so you have the box... it should be fun for you and the children. My kids always liked boxes too and the bigger the better. Hope you are having a nice day, sandra

Great photos Ally,  I wonder why that is but you`re right, not only do kiddies like boxes but things like saucepans as well.  Really, if we`re honest, they don`t need half of all the toys we buy them.  Give them a box and leave them to their imagination and they will play for hours! :o)

You'll have to go and buy yourself something nice that comes in a huge box. For the childrens' sake of course. x

If I might add my two cents worth I agree boxes are the best toys. Paula

I agree...that's been the way for years.  I even found a letter my mom wrote to her parents after my 2nd Christmas.  In there mom said that "Linda is playing with the boxes her new toys came in and has discarded the toys."  That was 62 years ago.  Somethings never change.   Linda

Ally...you don't have to convince me "the box is the best"...LOL...our neighbor recently bought a new refrigerator....we ask for the box....and Cameron and his friends had the best time all day with it....LOL....better than any game from Walmart LOL....

Isn't it amazing what amuses the children?  I remember doing the same thing as a child, and my son and daughter would spend hours making little houses and forts out of cardboard boxes.  Maybe we should have given them empty boxes for Christmas, and saved our money ?? LOL    Looks like your grandchildren are having a great time in these pictures, and well as Dick.  What fun memories ....   tina

This is so true about boxes and what kids will do with them.  I love that the boxes bring out the creativity in the kids.  Fun!!
