The pictures of Diamond Lil are ones that Brian "The Love Train " made even clearer...and one he played with..changing the colour.....The others are ones I received in the post signed by the Crew.....I was so proud of them I had them framed and they hang in my Lounge....
The phone rang this morning and on answering it they asked for Lyn.. I said she was out... they asked if I was Mrs. W..... so I said yes (As of course I am) They asked me to tell Lyn her prescription was ready for collection....and would I like my appointment for this afternoon instead of next week...(Hang on a minute I never even knew I had an appointment next week)...but at least this is one appointment I am not going to miss. and I'm having it early today.
When Lyn came home I gave her the message...she was pleased as she wanted her new glasses.
A reading pair and a distance pair, they are "Bling" whatever that means...but I must admit they are really smart.
I waited in the car while Lyn went to pick her glasses up - and as we were early, she came back to the car and tried on her new specs. then she said "Mum these are supposed to be tinted" she has this allergy to bright lights. so have distance glasses tinted. for bright sunlight (Not that we get much of that) but she had paid for it so expected it to be done).
When I went in I mentioned this to the receptionist and she said it had been ordered and would Lyn take them back before we left
I had my eyes tested and and ordered a pair of reading glasses
went back to the car, and Lyn asked if I would take her glasses back "wear the old ones up first" I think was what she said...so I took them back for her, and they had forgotten to tint them, so had to leave them to go back to be tinted....
can pick them up next week when I collect my new ones...

You have been busy today. Your pictures look so much better with the bigger screen and the sharpening you friend did for you. Love Joan.
Imagine forgetting to tint the specs ,I wear reacter lite too,and am glad too in bright sun light,I expect by the time Iget my teeth fixed it will be time to have the specs renewed ,Brian has certainly worked his magic on your pictures ,you must be so pleased ..............Jan xx
Good pictures, always enjoy seeing other people's pics. Sounds like you had a busy time.

The Pictures are a lovely 'Keepsake'
and clever Brian for 'improving' the others
Aileen.....X
what is it with you and appointments??? ;))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
There must be something in the air..I called into the opticians and ordered my new specs this afternoon on impulse. I had the sight test done Xmas eve and hadn't been bothered till now. No "bling" I'm afraid, just ordinary varifocals with 30% off. Liked the red/pink Diamond Lil.! Eve
You seem to have a problem with appointments!! The B29 planes were the ones built in the 1930's and '40's. The US dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima using a B29. I hope Lyns glasses get done properly this time! Jeannette. http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels
To give you a clue...Diamond Lil swam in "bling"...so did Marilyn singing Diamonds are a girls best friend. Neat photos, a little bit of history. Sandi
I got new glasses last November and haven't even worn them yet. The change in the prescription was ever so slight and the old ones are like comfy old slippers. So...the new ones just sit in their case. The one thing nice about the new ones are that they have sun protection lenses that fit over them. So maybe they'll be my summer glasses. Not that this winter sun isn't bright, it's just that when it's freezing out, I'm not out there very long. Linda
Must be "glasses renew" time....I just got my new ones too...but cannot see with them LOL...so back I will go and have them rechecked....Happy Day to ya..Ora
"Bling" seems to have become quite the new word. John just got new glasses too. The kind that you can bend every which way and they don't break. Paula
Wonderful pictures ... Brian did a beautiful job. What fun to have these photos. They remind me of my father, who loved planes. tina
I'm never surprised that I come find an interesting note when I visit! The plane pictures must me such a treasure to you.
Good luck with those glasses. Nothing ever goes quite right, now, does it?
Jimmy
Enjoyed the photos of the planes. I saw a program on PBS about the fire bombings of WW2 in England with the deaths of 40,000 people. I have no line bi-focals that are not as easy to read small print as the ones I had that had the lines. mark
Hi Ally, I love the photos of the planes...I`ll bet they look really nice in frames. How annoying for Lyn with her glasses. That is the sort of thing that would happen to Jim, everytime he has his eyes tested there is something wrong with the new specs! :o(

They're wonderful keepsake pictures Ally and a talking point if on the wall, so many would be intrigued, they're great looking crafts. Brian's done a brilliant job. I've reading glasses now.........comes to us all in the end, always forget to take them when shopping so I still hold packets at arms length to see the ingredients lolol. Rache xx
Hey Ally, I really love those pictures.

Nice photos Ally ,hope Lyn gets her specs sorted......Jeanx
Glad you didn't miss an appointment, and got to go a week early. I like the retouched photo's, and the signed photo's of the plane. ~Deborah
Hi Ally
I like a bit of 'bling' - bet the glasses look fab!
