Ever wondered what I got up to in my spare time ?

Just popping in to let you know that Lyn is getting along really well ~ she tell's me she hasn't felt so well in ages ~ so is looking forward to a much better future ~  and as for me I am doing much better still on the old pain killers  but feeling great ~

I like to do a bit of dressmaking and other than my computer my sewing machine is my very favourite passtime ~ it is computerised and so easy to use ~ Abbie was off school today so she helped me to decorate Lyn's overalls ~ they are two sizes to big  for Lyn but she loves them ~ wears them to do the gardening  ~ and the housework ~ they are so plain  (so we Abbie and I) decided they needed prettying up :o)  don't know what Lyn will say when she sees them though :o)

We have been getting out more and went shopping today and are looking forward to more outings now hopefully the weather is getting better ~

Hope you all have a happy St. Patricks day and wish you all the "Luck of the Irish "

I am very happy that Lyn is doing so well following her surgery.   I did not know something happened to you that you are having to take pain medicine and I hope you are doing good considering.    It is nice that your granddaughter Abbie and you are decorating Lyn's oversize overalls and she can be surprised.    I will send you a letter about my upcoming surgery.       mark

I still have my old sewing machine purchased back in 1965 and it does still work too.  However, now it gets used to patch up ripped seams etc.  I just don't have time for sewing any more...I did alot before I went back to work in '84, but since then it's all been put on hold.  I love the decorating you've done.  That's a great way to spend time for sure.  'On Ya' - ma

Oh well done Ally, I wish I could sew but I`m really useless at it. I used to have a lovely sewing machine that my dad bought me but I hardly used it. I`m afraid it`s one talent that has passed me by...lol! I`m really glad that you and Lyn are feeling so much better, hopefully you`ll both be 100% soon. :o)

Love Sandra xxxx

Glad to hear you are both feeling better.  I Love your sewing machine!  I had one quite similar back in Canada and I miss it.  The one I have here is only a very basic one.  I love the stitching you have done on Lyn's overalls.  I would be thrilled if I were her!!

As a notorious (or should that be 'infamous') non-sewer, I wonder if I might actually have learnt how with a sewing machne like yours.  Mind, I suppose you still have to thread it up though - my greatest downfall!  Glad you two are on the mend at last.  That's great news.
love, Angie, xx

Love your sewing maching Ally! Mama used to sew a lot. I am glad to hear that Lyn is feeling so good. I bet she will love her newly designed overalls! I know I would. :) I think they are really cute now! The weather here is getting better slowly. The warmer days are a welcome change. Love, Kelly

Ally, you are so talented!  I used to sew quite a few years ago when my children were small but got away from it.  I never did sew extremely well.  Glad Lyn is feeling so well and you are feeling better also.  Love xx Chris

Hi Ally...you are clever with the sewing machine. My mum used to do machining and sell the dresses she made on a stall on market day and take orders from people who wanted dresses made. myself, i could never get the hang of the machine...best wishes and take care!

Wow Ally, the buttonholes on your blouse are so neat ~ that was always my failing! I'd make them so big I needed to sew dustbin lids on for buttons! Lol! I'm sure Lyn loved her overalls and will wear them with pride! I hope you're having a very happy Easter! Jeannette xx

Hey there, Ally ..... I'm so glad to read that Lyn did well with her surgery, and is recovering nicely.  That is good news, and a relief for you, too !   I'm sorry I didn't get over here sooner.  Long story, but I've not been able to spend much, if any, time at my computer these days ... I'm hoping that it changes soon.  Anway, I hope you are doing well, and that you and Lyn are enjoying the Spring days.  Love to you, Tina

I'm not the least bit surprised to discover that you have another creative outlet that you turn to. Your dressmaking is probably as wonderful as your journaling, very artistic and imaginative!

I could sure use a pair of oversized overalls for my yardwork!

Glad to see you, and pleased to hear that Lyn is feeling well also. Take care for now :)

Just one question.  How did Lyn like her overalls?  I thought they looked really cute.  My SIL has a sewing machine like that.  I am going to box up all Donnie's clothes that need repairing and send them to you, lol.  JK.

Have a blessed week!~

Ally, you sew beautifully!  I can barely do a seam, in fact NOW I can't, as I threw out my old sewing machne.  My Mom was a fine seamstress. Very talentned.  My sister has those "genes,"  --I didn't get  a one of them!!  I have to pay for even minor alterations (like hemming). xoxo Merry
