Joy and Sorrow

To~day 9 years ago was a time of great gladness as Amber my first Great Grandaughter was born ~

It was also a day of great sadness as it was the day of my Mother's funeral

So you can see why Amber is so special to me ~ she is like her Great Great Grandma she loves to sing and dance and takes great pleasure in entertaining us ~ The Tiara she has on was bought by another one of her grandma's I don't think she will ever take it off ~

she belongs to a drama group and has been in some productions ~ we went to see her at the Theatre Royal last year ~ remember this is a proud Gt.Grandmother talking ~ the whole audience was made up of brothers ~ sisters ~ Uncles ~ Aunts ~ grandparents and their friends ~

But I enjoyed every minute of it ~

The present in the box was a Spa which you lower into the Bath tub and it makes bubbles she had wanted one of these for ages ~ and they had drastically reduced them in price ~

The Bike she knew nothing about and Lyn and I had great pleasure in giving it to her ~ It was a picture to see the surprize on her face ~ she immediately told Abbie she could have her old one ~ which Abbie was really pleased about ~

so there were two happy little girls to~day ~

Ah Ally what lovely pictures ~ the girls are beautiful and Sammy handsome too of course :-) I wish Amber a very happy 9th Birthday ~ and life comes full circle ~ I think this is the right term (I hope so) given that she was born this date ~ I was pregnant when my Gran died and that's how I tried to look at it. Lovely entry, beautiful photo's.
lots of love and big hugs, Debbie ~xxxx~

Isn't is special how God works.  As you bury your dear mom, He blesses your family with a precious baby girl.  When my dad passed away in Sept of 1990, we already knew that my daughter, Julie, and her hubby were expecting their first in April of 1991.  Julie was born on my dad's birthday, so she was always special to him.  When that baby came in April of 1991 they gave him my dad's name "William" for a middle name.  Happy birthday to Amber !!  Hope she doesn't forget to get a helmet before riding that new bike.  If she were here...I'd get her one from the hospital where I work.  Linda in WA

Aptly titled entry Ally.  What a day of extreme emotion for yourself and family.  I love the name Amber and the jewellery.  I bet she has an amber ring already?   Eve

Bittersweet memories have a taste all their own but they warm the heart nonetheless.
There's an even cheaper way to make bubbles in the bath you know? ;O) (Sorry, couldn't help myself).

Hi Ally,  A very Happy Birthday to Amber, I can understand why she`s so special to you.  On the day Roman was born, it was also the anniversary of the day I lost my Dad.  Now it`s not such a sad day for me but a far happier one.  I know Dad would have approved. :o)

Happy birthday dear Amber, happy birthday to you. I had one of those spa thingys once and the first time I used it I put in too much bubble bath. The bubbles were heading for the ceiling and I didn't know how to stop them. lol Paula

Happy Birthday Amber, lots of goodies to make it special and she looks delighted with it all Ally.  Really sweet of her to give her old bike to Abbie, the two can now ride together, and Barney is sure there must have been something for him too:)

Happy/sad days are all too common but there's always something of the one missing in the one just arrived.  Enjoy it all Amber. Rache

Oh what a beautiful child she is.  I only have grandchildren right now, but I can imagine the thrill of a great grandchild and seeing the future in their faces. I know life can have sorrow in it, but the circle of life continues as it has in this beautiful child's face.....Sandi

Hi Ally!  What is that they say? When God closes a window, he opens a door?  I can see why she is precious....and sooo cute! Doesn't it make your heart feel good when the children share!!!  Well, I'm off to my new job.  Susan doesn't get there until 2:00 on Mondays and I don't have a key yet, so I had to wait until late to go in.  Which was great since I still have jet lag from my "awesome" trip!  Ohh that was so exciting!!

Thanks....... Bill Lee is a young man. Kind of small really, but he has such a big heart!

Hugs!
Darlene

Amber's bike looks like a good one with shock absorbers.   They are so much different from the one's I rode.    I did a lot of riding on a racing bike in my 20's.    The bath spa should be fantastic.    I would like to get a new tub and shower some day with a spa.    I just have a sort of shower right now.    I have to fill the tub above the shower from the faucet and hose.    It then works by gravity going down to the heater and up again and is more like a low pressure hose. lol    It was fun seeing your G. Grandkids all together.       mark
