The first year we moved here I was in the garden I saw what I thought was a bit of tissue paper on one of the bushes ~ when I went over to remove it I found it was this lovely flower ~ this is the first one out as yet this year ~ but in a day or two and with a bit of Sunshine it will be covered with blossom ~ and it looks beautiful ~ no idea of it's name though ~

That is a lovely flower, can't help you with the name of it though, not at all green fingered I'm afraid!xx
Ally, that really is a beautiful flower. I notice that quite often your pictures are out of focus. I may be trying to teach a grandmother to suck eggs, but may I suggest that when you take photos, you squeeze the take button gently half way down, you will feel when you are there, and pause for a few seconds to enable the camera to focus and work out the exposure. It certainly is a strange looking, although beautiful flower. I've never seen one like that before. Have a great weekend.
Hi Ally, I thought it looked like fried egg too...lol! It`s really pretty but I haven`t the slightest idea what it is...hopefully some clever soul will come up with the answer. :o)

It sure is a pretty flower no matter what the name... I bet it is beautiful when all are in bloom. do the blossoms last longer than a day? Sandra
That is a beautiful flower. I admire you the way you get out to the country side and eat out. I use to do all that with my widowed friends. I keep in touch with them but don't see them very often anymore. Paula
You find joy in simple things, nature,
animals, children, friends. In that you
serve as a splendid reminder of what God
has provided, pleasures we often overlook,
neglect, look down on. I'm reading a popular,
wildly popular at the time, novel first published
in 1926. I was stunned to discover on this reread
a first person prayer half a page long! Another
reminder. Thanks Ally.

Lovely flower Ally sorry no idea what it is. Love Joan.
I love that flower, Ally. So much so, that I have been trying to find out what it's called. Unfortunately, I havent had any success .. =( It looks a bit like what we call Passionflower here, but those grow on vines, and are quite tropical. I am going to keep on searching ! Tina
I love this time of year, the garden always brings new surprises,lovely.xxzoexx.

I believe it is a primrose.
Hi Ally,
This is definatly "The Rock Rose :-which is the common name.)
Cistus Aguillarii
Must go granchildren call, not much time to spare just now..Just like the pink one I told youI used to have .They are beautifull, but as I said before so fragile to wind.
And as you said buds in abundance.
Regards Astoriasand.
It is beautiful and unusual Ally, so papery and delicate.........it's going to look wonderful when u get a whole bush of them. Rache
Can see your picture now Ally. Don't know what it is though. If you find out will you tell me? Is it a shrub/ Do those leaves belong to it or are they a diffeent plant/ - Angie, xx
hi Ally
Love th flowers, dog and the cat x
I am glad the "Rock rose" or Cistus Aguillarii was found by astoriasand. I have her journal on my alerts and was pleased to meet her. Hoping you are having a good Bank Holiday there. My Memorial Day is going better than I felt on Saturday and Sunday. My ear is still draining but I don't have the head conjested feeling I was having. My back is getting use to this hot and humid weather. The record high for yesterday was broken by 1 degree at 91F. Earlier this morning I put heavy plastic underneath my floor in my new addition. I take my shoes off to not press down to hard on the plastic and I can crawl around now and not be in the wet dirt. I need to hammer in the hangers for the plastic line ( line trimmer line ) that will hold up the fiberglas blanket insulation. When that is done I can move the floor board back and start working on the inside. It will be cool in there because it will be open to my air conditioned cabin and fans. I did some push mower mowing the last several days ( in the evenings ) as I have to fix the steering on my riding mower. I also started mowing my 83 year old neighbors lawn for him. Salty is out in the shade in his pen. Give Barney and Nin a treat for me. mark
Ally you are just so sweet!!!
Kara :)
