The things I have been doing

It is ages since I last wrote in my journal ~ but had to come in today being the 4th of July and Independence day in the United States of America ~ wanted to wish our friends over the Pond  a Happy Day ~ and hope you are all celebrating and enjoying your Fireworks ~ (if they are legal in your State)

We have been out and about visiting some of the small villages in this area ~ have been lucky at home with no flooding ~ some of the roads have been flooded and I didn't like driving through the water ~ (well I wasn't driving and we were in Lyn's LandRover so felt pretty safe) ~ there are a lot of Roadworks going on at the moment ~ with diversions that take you miles out of your way ~

I feel so sorry for those people whose homes have been flooded I know it takes a long time for them to dry out ~ before they are able to move back into them ~  (Lyn was flooded out when she lived on the farm)~ I hope there will be some kind of help for them and those who have no insurance ~

The news has been terrible and thank God those car bombs didn't explode ~ I am still getting over the shock of those terrorists being Doctors ~ as I think everyone else is ~ obviously the Hippocratic Oath means nothing to them ~

My Grandson Jake broke two of his toes practising football ~ so he is out of the game for the time being ~ they still practise even though the Season is over ~ and he really misses it  ~

Ally you have a quacker of a day too. It is raining here again so don't know if the fireworks will even come off here tonight. At any rate if they do there shouldn't be any danger of fire. That was a shock to me too about those guys being in the medical field. That is sooo sad to learn. Glad you've been out and about. Paula

Lovely photos Ally, how nice to see some flowers after the awful weather we`ve been having. How dreadful though for those people whose homes have been flooded. Even when they are completely dried out they will never be the same without a great deal of work, it must be horrible for them. I agree with you about doctors who swear an oath to save lives and then try to take them away. What do they care for humanity I wonder?

Love Sandra xxxx

Nice to hear from you Ally.  I think we all need a break from journals now and again.  I know I am getting writer's block again!  Yes, it is awful the terrorists being doctors.  Made me think of the ones I met when I was having my treatment. Gave me a shudder to think now you never know.

Seems a lot of troubling news coming from you lately. The terrorist news, in particular, was very unnerving. I hope that you'll promise to stay careful and safe in your travels!

The photos, on the other hand, are lovely as usual.

Raining here again today, as per. Thundering in fact (our Sally has just shot into the back of my computer cupboard.  She'll light up one of these days!  Wish our grden looked as good as yours.  The Roses are all blown to bits with stems blown off by the wind. Never mind, they'll come back.

What a beautiful garden!  I love it.   I still can't believe those terrorists were doctors either.  It's not right to kill no matter who you are.  They'll have to pay for it.  One way or another.  Hope you are having a nice weekend.  Love, Shelly

Just stopping by to say hello-and so glad you wrote an entry! Love your graphics! It's a lot of work putting those things in correctly, huh? Took me a while before I had the hang of it! Stop by my journal-if you have a minute-did a new entry myself. Have a nice weekend! ~Diane~ http://journals.aol.com/dizarra/StorysFromtheCityTalesFromtheSea/

Ally
Both your sister's garden and yours look beautiful this year.  It looks like you will be eating apples for a while now.  Do you bake them into a pie when you have a good crop of them?  I'm glad your house was not affected by the floods.  My heart goes out to those that had their homes damaged by the high waters.  I, too, am thankful those bombs did not go off and share your indignance that the perpetrators were doctors.

Hey Ally - glad you made an apparence for the our Independency Day - July 4th.  Love your graphic with the little duckies - Have a Quaker of a Day.  So cute.  So many strange things going on everywhere, bombings, flooding, you name it.  Are we being conditioned to shock?  Things we never dreamed of ever coming to be and yet we survive and we come through it and many times it brings us so much closer to each other.  Wonder what God is trying to tell us?  So many movies out these days with wonderful messages.  Wish all being could just GET IT.  Thanks for you visits to my place.

Blessings to you and keep as dry as you can.

Joys garden is beautiful Ally, I love the swing, but you've got an abundance of goodies to eat :)  Jake must have a powerful kick, just what a footballer wants.  Hope his toes heal soon. Rache

Lovely garden photos. You know that plant that you don't know what it is, well I've got some and I don't know what it is either. Mine are self-setters but I let them grow as they are so colourful, first the flowers, then the seeds. I do know the belong to the hypericum family. Have you seen the pictures of my floods?

Linda.

I think I'm very behind and missed this one, Ally.  I was very shocked that the car bombers were all doctors.  This stuff is so frightening.  I'm hoping the UK has dried up some.  The floods were so terrible.  Have a good Sunday night.  Love xx Chris
