Field mouse

Do you remember me telling you about the field mouse that made a nest in Lyn's walking boots.

Well picture shows how they made a comfortable home for their babies and ruined her boots.

I thought we had thrown the boots out, but Lyn left them in case they came back and needed their nest again.

Inside were nuts and bolts bits of cardboard material and lots of other bits and pieces.

My daughter is so mere hearted - but I would not have her any other way

.The mice didn't come back again so we are now thinking about putting the boots in the Bin....

thanks  Sara

That is so sweet Ally...if you like mice that is!  Maybe you should keep the boots as the mice may be back again to find another pair to live in...lol!

What a nice girl Lyn sounds! I don't mind mice, I used to have them in my outhouse but they never came indoors. Jeannette.

If you leave the boot maybe a robin will find a use for them in a few months time that is if they are not in the way.  Love Joan.

I had a box for an electronic item in my barn that I needed with a mouse nest and babies in it.   I let the mother, knowing that her home had been disturbed, retreive her babies one at a time before I took the box away.   If it had been in my home I would not have been so kind.   A mouse in my home chewed the fringe away from a new decorative rug and I found where she had made a nest with it.   If they get into my house I get the trap out.   A mouse made a nest inside my truck parked that I keep in my yard and start up to keep it running good.  A mouse built a nest in the heater and left so much excrement that when the fan is turned on the smell is awful.   I have tried to spray it with not much effect.   The trap was used in my truck and the heater blocked off with a plastic bag.   I guess it is just how much damage a person can take before treating them as a pest.     mark
