Christmas

Well it's nearly time to put Father Christmas away until next year....the 12 days of Christmas will soon be gone then we can look forward to celebrating the New Year..

The children have opened all their Christmas Presents and most of the food has been eaten.

Don't know if we will be going out for a Christmas meal again,    The Hotel was lovely, and the staff were very pleasant.

We ordered Beef for the main coarse when it was brought to the table Yorkshire puddings and roast potatos were already on the plate .

- in the middle of the plate were 4 thick slices of beef,  I looked at Lyn and she looked back at me - the meat was rare -

I could actually see the red blood....and neither of us like our meat that way, in fact we are not very big meat eaters at all....but do like it cooked all the way through.

Can't think why we were not asked how we like our meat.  perhaps that is the way all their other customers like  it..

Vegetables were brought and there was a wide variety...

We took one of the small plates and put the meat from our plates onto it...a waiter noticed this and asked if he could take it back and get it cooked longer.

As we had already added the veg. to our plates we declined his offer...but asked if he would mind putting it in a bag for us to take home for the dogs.

Cheeky little devils arn't we...

The Starter I had quite honestly was enough for a whole meal on it's own - there was Salmon - Prawns -all kinds of sea food even Caviar...

I ended up having Lemon cheesecake this again was huge and I could not eat it all -

When we arrived home Lyn put the beef into the Microwave and then cut it up for Nin and Barney ,

They both enjoyed it immensely, so they had a Christmas treat as well...

Happy New Year may all your dreams come true...

It is odd that you were not asked how you prefer your beef prepared, but Barney and Nin didn't complain, I'll bet.  :D

Merry Christmas to you Ally, and best wishes for the New Year!!!

Oh dear i'd have had to ask to get mine cooked for longer...I like my meat well done, so well done it's like charcoal LOL...I don't have any pets to get it home in a doggy bag but am sure your dogs enjoyed it lots :o)  Think i may buy some beef for new years day and make yorkshire puddings as kerry is home so i don't have to eat them all myself <G>   Caff xxx

Did'nt the dogs do well, I like my meat well done but not burnt. You seem to enjoy yourself even if the meal was not up to scratch. Love Joan.

I couldn't have eaten it either, I like meat well done. Glad you enjoyed the rest of the meal. Restaurants do give large portions now, never used to be the case. I prefer smaller meals, I don't like leaving a restaurant ready to burst!! Hope you have a happy new year Ally and glad Barney and Nin enjoyed their treat! Jeannette.

Hi Ally,  I do like roast beef well done, I think you should have been asked for your preferences beforehand.  Oh well, Nin and Barney did very well out of it! :o)

Happy Christmas Ally, I think Nin and Barney plotted together so that you'd bring a doggy bag home :)  I like my meat as done as coal, very surprised they didn't ask. Happy New Year to you too Ally. Rache  xx

I'm with you Ally.  I don't like my meat to moo when I cut into it.  Might as well eat it raw, if it's not cooked so the pink is gone. It sounds like you had a wonderful day.  That's good..Linda

The meal must have been good otherwise.   It was nice that he offered to cook it longer.    The children must have had a good time with their presents.    Wishing you a great New Year.   mark

Oh, but the good side of under-done meat is more room for cheesecake!  Glad you made the best of things!

Have a happy and blessed new year!
