A nice day at Wolterton Hall

We had a lovely day out at Wolterton Hall today ~ they had a Textile day there and it was really very interesting ~

But it was the other stalls that I was interested in ~ and the Alpaca's I could willing take one of them home with me ~  they are just so cute ~

There were Basket making ~ Jewellery making ~ and all sorts of other stalls as well as food ~ I had the biggest piece of Sponge Cake and I did manage to eat it all :o)  with no difficulty :o)

The Children were doing Pond Dipping ~ putting a net into the pond and inspecting what they had brough out ~ there were Newts and something called water boat men ~ they were little bugs that looked like a boat with oars ~ really very interesting ~ and blood worms ~ you would not believe the things they got out of that pond :o)

The weather wasn't too bad either considering the bad weather we have been having ~  so it was a very pleasant day ~ We invited Roy our neighbour to join us as he lives on his own and just recently had to have his beloved Dog Brandy put to sleep as he had been very ill ~ then when we got home he joined us for dinner ~

Lyn had prepared a casserole before we wentout so it was ready when we got home ~ and it was delicious all that fresh air had made us all hungry :o)

What a great event you went to...you always seem to find things that I wish I could join you in!
We recently saw some Alpacas and of course, I took tons of shots and fell madly in love with them.

What a wonderful day!!!  I wish I could have been with you!!!  The Alpaca's are so precious!  I wouldn't mind having one of those myself!  I love baskets....  I bet the pond dipping was very interesting!!!!  That was very sweet of y'all to invite your neighbour Roy, & I'm so glad that he had dinner with y'all.

Hugs,
Hollie

Sounds like the perfect day Ally.  I loved pond dipping when I was a child and I still watch all the insects that land in our pond. They Alpacas do look sweet.  Oh how I would love a big hunk of that sponge cake right now.

We had some good weather today too. My day wasn't half as much fun as yours though, Reet had me working in the garden :O(
I like the idea of pond dipping. Remeinds me of when we were kids and used to catch newts. We had quite a collection too - until our cats got at them! Seriously, it was like a war zone!

I enjoyed the pictures very much.  It sounds like a great day.  Your weather sounds better than ours at the moment.  It is very windy and a little scary as my electricity keeps blinking on and off.  'On Ya' - ma

I saw a tv show
the other day
about a retired couple
from Michigan (my state)
they have Alpacas
they said their fur is
nicer than sheep wool

The Alpacas look to be the most fun part of your day but everything looks fun. You always have the neatest places to go. Paula

It sounds like you had a lovely day out All!  I really enjoyed all the pictures as well.  Isn't it funny how good food tastes after you've been out and about!  I reckon the hungrier you are the better it tastes!

Your visit to Wolterton Hall sounds like it was both fun and interesting, Ally.  The pictures are great and gives one a good feel for the event.  That was really nice of you and Lyn to take your neighbor Roy with you.  It really is sad when you have to put a loyal companion to sleep.  I an sure it was really nice to come home to a good meal that was already cooked.  Thanks for sharing with us.

Sounds a lovely day, Ally.  The alpacas have wonderfully snooty faces.
Must have been a great comfort to Roy to share your stew!

What a lovely day out you had I think the Alpaca's look beautiful and a bit snooty too with their noses in the air.  Saw you village signpost on Countryfile yesterday morning and shouted to Stuart that's where Ally lives.  Love Joan.

Oh it looks like you had a wonderful day out! I love alpacas so much. We get those little bugs in our pool. I dont know what exactly they are really called either, I just call them little swimmie bugs..lol. They do look like little boats with oars though now that you mention it. After a full day out I know Lyn was glad supper was already ready when you got home. Thats always nice isnt it? Love, Kelly

Hi Ally,  I always love to hear of your days out as you know I love the countryside. I would really enjoy the day at Wolterton Hall as much as you did. Hmm....do Alpacas eat grass I wonder? because if they do it would save you mowing the lawn...lol! ;o)
