bits and pieces

I just had to pop in before the calendar shows March you know how quickly time flys by ~ it only seems like yesterday we were celebrating the New Year ~ and now it is the 1st of February ~

Lyn has her appointment for her surgery it is March 4th which is just a month away ~ she is living quite happily taking pethidine she say's it makes her feel like she dosn't have a care in the world ~ and it keeps the pain at bay ~

It is so unlike her so see her sitting still for more than 10 minutes at a time ~ BUT NICE TO SEE HER RELAXING FOR A CHANGE ~

Just looked outside the back door and it is snowing quite heavily

Joan (Joans musings) http://journals.aol.co.uk/jaymact1/JoansMusings/

we have a bird in the Garden and I have no idea what it is ~ we are trying to get a picture of it which if we do I will send it along to you ~ and hopefully you will be able to tell me what it is ~ just in case it is rare we will keep the location to ourselves as I don't want a lot of Bird watchers invading the Garden ~ but of course you will be welcome ~ LOL

Had to smile at a conversation I had with my youngest Grandaughter Abbie

Abbie:  How do you spell Althea

me:         a  l  t  h  e  a

Abbie:    That is one of my names

me:         Thats my name too ~ showing Abbie a gold name tag

Dick had made for me a long time ago

Abbie:      How weird is that Nan no one else in my school has

that for a name ~ isn't it odd that you and me have

                 the same name

I will leave it to her Mum and Dad to explain that one to her LOL ~

Dear Ally,

How nice to hear from you again!  Glad to hear that the Pethidine is easing Lyn's pain.  I shall keep my fingers crossed that the appointment goes well on March 4th.  Lovely photos (as always) of Lucky.  She looks very much like my Chewie.  I had a little chuckle about the conversation you had with Abbie about your name.  I think it's a very unique one.

So pleased Lyn has her date and look forward to hearing of her progress.  I will be thinking of you all!  We have no snow here, as yet and I am keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have any either.  Had a few hailstones earlier today but that is about all.  Wonder when your granddaughter will realise why she also has your name?  Aren't they sweet and innocent?  Eileenx

Glad Lyn has her appointment and is doing o.k.  Yes, time is certainly flying.  I do wish we had snow here, just for one day so that Nathan and Daniel could see it and enjoy it.

I love what children do come up with - they keep us SMILING for sure.  I'm glad the date is set for the surgery and your daughter has some relief.  Hopefully she will be good as new very soon.  I know that once my gall bladder was out I felt like a new person.
That was many years ago and I'm still doing fine.  'On Ya' - ma

Ally
I'm sorry Lyn has to wait another month for her operation, but glad it is finally on the schedule.  Yes, I agree, time is flying by way too quickly.  Summer will be upon us again before you know it.  I can't wait to hear what kind of bird you have in the garden.  I do hope you get a picture of it.  That was a cute conversation you had with Abbie.  I'd love to see her face when her parents explain how she happens to have a name that is the same as yours.  I know she will bring this up again when you two see each other the next time.  Try to keep warm in spite of all the snow!

LOL, you manage to be pleasant despite all that is going on in your life. I'm happy that you do manage to get things to smile about from day to day. Please know that we'll ALL be keeping Lyn and you in our prayers.

Take care for now, good to see you, as always.

We did not get any snow down here Ally, only rain.  I do miss the snow although I know it can cause big problems, especially for anyone who has to travel anywhere.  I am keeping Lyn in my prayers.  Glad her pain is being managed for now.  What a beautiful cat!

I do hope your snow won't last long Ally.  We haven't got any yet in our bit of North Lincs but we are instructed to expect it.  Lovely entry, what a lovely cat that is.  And who's been buying stuff from Iwantoneofthose.com?  You can get hilarious stuff from there.  I bought a pair of racing grannies for my sister when she became one!  Enjoy the weekend.  Love to Lyn

Aw bless, children say the cutest things. I remember saying to my Dad, "Isn't it funny how people don't have babies until they're married" He was really embarassed by that, which is why it stuck in my mind.

Love the cat, what a beautiful coat.

Good to hear from you Ally.  We'll be on the ship for the first day of our cruise when Lyn has her surgery.  I'll write it on my calendar so I remember to say a prayer for her.  Sorry about the snow.  We could still get more here too.  It's still down in the low 30's outside, so all we need is rain to make snow.  Take care..Linda in Washington state

Hi Ally, I`m so pleased to hear that Lyn has her hospital date at long last. Soon it will all be behind her and she can dispense with the pethidine.  I wonder what your bird is, I hope you manage to get a photo.  I love the conversation you had with Abbie, children say the funniest things don`t they? :o)
