Odds and ends

The Rainbows were taken after a storm yesterday ~ it made such a beautiful picture ~

Lyn is doing OK meds keeping pain at bay and I am thankful for that :o) She said to say thankyou for your concern ~

We have a small brick shed just to the left side in the back garden where we keep the BBQ and other odds and ends ~it has been taken over by a Robin ~ Tom wanted to go in there yesterday but Mr Robin screached and screamed and flapped his wings telling him to go away ~ we leave the door open all the time so he can spend these wet and cold Winter nights in the warm :o)

Another cute little poem :o)

The Lost Dr. Suese Poem

"I Love my Job"

I love my job, I love the pay!

I love it more and more each day.

I love my boss, he is the best!

I love his boss, and all the rest.

I love my office and it's location, I hate to have to go on vacation.

I love my furniture, drab and grey, and piles of paper that grow each day,

I think my job is really swell, there's nothing else I love so well.

I love to work among my peers, I love their leers, and jeers and sneers,

I love my computer and it's software:

I hug it often though it won't care. I love each program and every file,

I'd love them more if they worked for a while.

I'm happy to be here. I am. I am.

I'm the happiest slave of the firm, I am.

I love this work, I love these chores.

I love the meetings with deadly bores.

I love my job ~ I'll say it again ~ I even love those friendly men.

Those friendly men who've come today.

In clean white coats to take me away !!!!!

Hi Ally,

I`m glad to hear that Lyn is doing ok with her meds, it`s been a while since I read any journals and I`m not up to speed on how things are with anyone. :o( I love the poem, it really made me laugh. Great photos, a rainbow is one of nature`s true wonders I think. Robins are delightful birds but so territorial, I`m be mentioning them in my journal tonight. :o)

Love Sandra xxxx

Loved your poem.  Congratulations!
There's truth, paradoxical tho' it may be,
that we can learn to love our chains.
It's a parallel truth to the one I can believe
on trust, that if we had everything, money,
mansions all over etc., we'd likely be equally
miserable if our integrity was out: happiness,
in other words comes from work and hororable
achievement, not from having our way, and
servants to trip over. With your permission
I'll say a prayer for your family.

Barry

[Your Elizabeth ll radiates good will and
integrity; I bet she works like an ant not
supported by her importance but by her
achievements and keeping her word with her people.
I hope it's okay for an Aussie/Yank to opine
in this way.]

I'm glad Lyn has good meds to keep the pain minimal until the procedure can be scheduled.  Great picture of the rainbow.  I used to see rainbows almost every day in the Manoa Valley in Hawaii.  Here in Georgia, I see them only every now and then.  I still love them, though.  Cute poem!  It got a chuckle out of me!

That's why I retired...the men in the white coats were nearing the building !   I've been wondering how Lyn is doing.  Those gallbladders can be pesky and painful.  I need to get my bird feeders filled.  The little ones around here are running out of food to keep them going.   Thanks for the update..Linda in Washington state

Glad Lyn is doing better.  We went and got some more seed and nuts yesterday for our feathered friends.  It has gotten quite cold now, so I will need to make up some fat balls as well.
Lovely pictures too!

I hope Lyn gets things tended too soon. I cant imagine having to wait in pain like that, even with the meds. I hope she is managing. Those pictures are just breathtaking...just love it when rainbows show up..it seems like such a miracle everytime it happens. :) Glad to see you post, been missing you posting. Sweet of you to let that robin hole up for the winter. Take care, Love, Kelly

I enjoyed the rainbow and that pot of gold that keeps getting further away, ha, ha!   Nin is snug and peaceful as can be.     I enjoyed the poem also!    I began to get an email from you when I opened up my AOL for the first time today and then it disappeared so perhaps it will appear later.    I am going to have a charcoal cooked turkey dinner at a friends home today for Thanksgiving.      mark

Hi Ally.

Been having a good read of your blog. Love the photos. Read the instruction book to find out how to turn off the date. It spoils the pictures.

Those are great pictures of rainbows. If I remember correctly my daddy used to call the second rainbow a water dog. I did see two rainbows in the picture, right?
Your robin looks different from the American robin. Do you have any larger pictures of it?
