Have you ever wondered ?????

THURSDAY  AUGUST 30TH

I was woken up during last night with Awful ~ Awful ~ Awful earache ~ I have never had earache before and never want it again :o(

It was so bad I asked Lyn to ring the Doctors surgery for me ~ which is unheard of because at all costs I avoid the Doctors surgery ~

Every time I go there to collect prescriptions I read this little verse and it always tickles my sense of humour ~ so thought I would share it with you ~

LITTLE PILL

Little pill here in my hand

I wonder how you understand,

Just what to do or where to go,

To stop the ache that hurts me so,

Within your covering lies relief,

You work alone to ease my grief,

You sink in regions there below,

As down my throat you quickly go !

But what I wonder, little pill,

Is how you know right where I'm ill ?

And just how do you really know,

exactly where you have to go ?

"author unknown"

Turns out it wasn't earache but a chest infection which the Doctor gave me antibiotics ~ and it feels a lot better already :o)

I am away staying with my Sister Joy for the weekend so will be back Monday  ~ Hope you all have a great weekend ~

Hello Ally,  I'm so glad the chest infection is on the mend, yes the little pills DO work wonders don't they?!  I used to get really bad earaches when I was a child and have had operations on both ears once I was an adult - I think earaches are worse than toothaches at times.
The photos are lovely, loved the little stream and the thought of the chickens running towards you made me laugh, I can just imagine them!  Love, Pat   http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

Woweee that is a lot of chickens! They all look mostly like Red Stars...really prolific layers. I am sorry you felt so bad...how did the earache make for a chest infection I wonder? Glad you went on to the doctor and got antibiotics. Those are some really beautiful pictures taken while y'all were out..and that Toby, what a silly puppy, he sure is a cutie! Glad to see you posting, I had to come and check yesterday to make sure I was getting alerts from you, and I am. Hope you feel better soon. (((HUGS))) Kelly

Yes, Ally, I give the doctor a wide berth!  Your tour was lovely, some very cosy architecture, and how good to see the hens out, doing what comes naturally.Bet the eggs were good.

Ally, how I laughed at the verse!  Hope you don't mind, I've copied it on to my sis, who also likes a good giggle.  Sorry about your earache.  What a funny diagnosis!  I'm sure there'll be a connection somewhere but your chest sounds an awful long way from your ear.  The poem has a point!  Little Toby. bless hm.  I love to see a spark out puppy when he's been having himself a lovely time.
Love, Angie, xx

Ally!!! How can a pain in your ear be a chest infection???? Are you sure that was the doctor you saw and not a cleaner having a laff?

I hope you are feeling better soon!  Your pictures were wonderful!  I was amazed at the free range chickens.  Here in the US that is rare but people are starting to demand the cage free eggs and poultry.  Linda

Glad you got your infection sorted.  I have had earache many times in my life and it is very painful.  Interesting that yours wasn't your ear and yet gave you the same pain!  Loved all the photos, especially the ones of Toby!

Loved the photos, especially
the tavern along the road. Can't
even imagine what it might be like inside.
We're at the mercy of our physicial
health aren't we? Oh dear, the number
of things that can go wrong......shudder....
I just might try thinking of it this way: if
I handle my physical health it just might
help with my mental health!  Ha ha ha....

Happy to hear your
medication worked.
Loved all the photos;
How do you stack 'em
like that?! That method
sure beats anything I've
tried. I'm carzy about
that surprising, out-of-
nowhere rural restaurant
kinda as if it folds out
of the building it abutts
in day, and retracts at
night. Ha! Sure would
like to spend an hour
there eating and reading
the paper.

Oh I am so glad that you chose to ring up the Doctor and get some medicine to help you. I know just how awful those earaches can be, no matter what the cause. I'm glad you were able to get away and have a visit. I look forward to hearing all about it.
