AOL who else !!!!!!

What have AOL done to our pictures and can someone tell me where the Captions have gone ~ I like Captions they tell me what I am looking at ~

Lilac in the Garden

I mean would you have known that was Lilac if I had not put a caption there :o)

And you never would have known these are Cherries growing on the Tree we planted last year without this caption ~ :o)

Have just been playing around with pictures and realise if you click onto a moving picture it does become large with the caption added ~ which is quite good ~

What do you think !!!!!!!!!>

Hi Ally the lilac and cherries are lovely.I havn't had alerts at all I am still going round the board as I call it and it is so hard work.Clicking onto every name I have listed as my favourites.I have only just come online so obviuosly your name beginning with A you are one of the first.I did a post yeatreday morning and I have hardly had any visiotrs.I do also get some comments which are just e. mails which do not enter my journal at all and I havn't even had them.If it continues like this I shall give up my journal as I get sick of all the changes.I only knew alerts were down Monday through an e. mail from Sugar. So it seems Tues and Wed Now all is differant and  journals are a right mess.I am still doing yesterdays comments on postings it is never ending this way.GrrrrrrrrI am sorry you have had troubles regarding your pics.Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.Take care God Bless Thanx for the omfo.Kath

Hi Ally -- sorry, I didn't realize that some of the new features of the Journals R11b release would affect existing galleries. I will do a blog entry about it as soon as I can today.

Thanks -- Joe, Journals Editor

I love the "Quacker" graphic.    I agree, they need to leave our stuff alone.   Linda in Washington

what has changed in blogs?

I was having such problems getting on to Pictures I just gave up weeks ago, now I just load the pictures I want to Flickr and insert the HTML into the text, I found it really quick and you're not restricted on picture size, which drives me mad, as all my photos from my camera are HUGE files an AOL likes them very small, which meant I had to produce edited copies to insert them in the text. I do have a life and I don't intend spending most of it trying to sort out my photos.

Well, after looking at my journal I see they messed up my pictures too...all my captions are gone.  What's the deal ?    Linda in Washington

I have to say I am not amused with what they have done.  You can't see the whole picture to begin with, you can't change the speed at which you see them.  Why can we not choose these matters.  No I wouldn't have known that was a lilac if you hadn't told me ;-)

Hello Ally,  Well I`m glad it`s not just me. I opened my journal this evening to a mass of moving photos. I hope it`s not going to be permanent because I like captions too! :o(

You're lucky Ally, I can't see my pics at all. I'm getting a message that I need to download Adobe Flash Player. But when I try it won't download!
I like your pics though.

Hello Ally.

Are you sitting comfortably? This could take a while...

After reading this entry, I went back to my journal and checked the entries where I added photos. Mine were moving too!

Where are the captionss gone? In my "Brilliant Brussels" entries, I displayed photos of churches and statues, but now you can't tell what they are... No wonder AOL are called AO-HELL!

AOL are missing the main focus of the photos. There is a photo on my blog where you can only see HALF my face now! What's the point in that?

I am certainly not impressed with what AOL has done, and I hope this will be a temporary thing.

Leigh :-)

Yes, I see we have a slide show now.  What if we don't want one?  Hmmmm...  Linda

I hate it Ally. If I wanted a slide show I would have got one. Let's hope they realise we don't like it and revert back to normal! Jeannette xx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/

It has something to do with not having a strong version
of Windows. For example, I temporarily have to put up wih Windows Vista
(not "Vista Ultimate") which is anemic; some software it simply
cannot install. The word "Driver" is germaine. I can't access my second,
external hard drive bcause I do not have the best "driver" for the job.

I'm not altogether happy with the changes myself.  Why do things always have to keep changing!  I'm an old dog and I don't do new tricks very well!!!

Im not sure I like it at all ,its going to take so much longer clicking on each picture to see what it is all about ,they dont come up in a regular order ,I usually add mine in sequel, darent go and check how to add stuff to my journal lol ..love Jan xx

Ally
I don't think I like the new things AOL has done with the pictures.  When you click on a picture you are taken to a page that has another advertisement on it besides the picture.  Just another way to increase advertising if you ask me.  It will take longer to read entries that have a lot of pictures.  Oh well, most of us are using AOL for free these days so who are we to complain?

i do not like the little picture show aol did either :( at least if you click on it you get the caption but what do we have to do tell them to click the slideshow if you want to know what things are???
LOL
have a good day

He he, I wouldn't of known that was a lilac without the caption, and I would never of guessed that they were cherries in the second pic!!
I hadn't realised that you could click on the moving pics... then it's not so bad I suppose.  Wish they would tell us before they make changes like this though!!!

Rose here, Ally. I just noticed the pictures today, and think AOL is using the latest slideshow presentation, called "woohoo's". (http://woohoo.aim.com/web/index.html). Came across this quite some time ago when visiting another person's journal. If you don't have adobe flash player installed, it is free and can be installed with your administrator account, by visiting http://adobe.com for the latest version. Not sure if I like the new format, maybe will stick to only putting gif pics on, instead.

Oops! The correct web addy for WooHoo's is: http://woohoo.aim.com/web/index.html

Your efforts were much appreciated, as always. AOL likes to keep us on our toes. Your garden is lovely :)

Hi there Ally,

I am also having problems with AOL, but, or so it would seem, many of my other J Landers are too.

I hope your problems are resolved soon.

By for now,

John.

Yes, Ally; had the same problem until enlightened by Kath.  It was quite upsetting.
Good thing you found the caption - I would have thought that was an early hydrangea !  Bunny xx

Well I think the pictures are just beautiful! Cherries! I never thought of planting a cherry tree, that would be wonderul. I am in limbo here for now on the journal thing...sigh...can't decide what to do, waiting on help.
