Pool Party

About midweek last week the weather forecast promised us a Sunny weekend ~ so we thought we would have a pool party on Sunday ~ so we put the pool up and as it takes 48 hours to fill we got on with the job

There would be eleven of us all together so needed to get food in for a BBQ ~ we bought Hamburgers ~ Chicken wings ~ Sausages ~ mushrooms and plenty of salad ~ Ice cream and lots of different pastries ~ and not forgetting crisps and fruit

Saturday arrived and it was a beautiful sunny day ~ we started to get all the food prepared ~ Lyn prepared the salad ~ we had bought salad potatoes which we were going to steam ~ and make into potato salad

Sunday Morning was a bit overcast and I must admit I felt a bit let down but of course we can't control the weather ~ The family arrived and as they did the sun came out ~ the children couldn't wait to get in the pool ~ so all four of them put on their swimming costumes and were in the pool within a few minutes ~ the water was so cold but they didn't seem to notice that ~ they were followed by Tom ~ Lyn Russell Adam and Ella ~ Nin Barney and little Toby were playing in the garden and William the baby was asleep in his car seat ~ Me I preferred to stay in the Garden just enjoying watching them in the pool ~ although I did get splashed trying to take pictures ~

It turned out to be a perfect day and everyone enjoyed theirselves ~

As we packed everything away it decided it was going to rain and rain it did but our day had been perfect and even the rain could not spoil it ~  More memories to add to the ones we already have ~

I love your pool Ally, I`d love to have one of those on my back garden. I`m glad you all had a lovely day but what a pity the rain has come back after the last two sunny weeks. Hopefully we`ll have some more good
weather and your family can enjoy the pool once again. :o)

Love Sandra xxxx

Ally I am so pleased you were able to have your pool party, you were brave even to think of having it, considering the way the weather has been changing lately!  I'm sure the children didn't even notice the cold, and I think I'd have done the same as you, watched from the garden!!  Love, Pat   http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

48 hours to fill the pool?  Zoiks! Were you using watering cans? Mind you, it takes a good half hour to forty five minutes to fill our tiddly paddling pool so I can well believe you.

I'm glad you all had a good time and the weather behaved itself, at least till the end.

The rain showed up late: serve it right;
it should have set it's alarm clock earlier.

The BBQ sounded fit for a king Ally.Mmmm I feel hungry now LOL!! Love the pool.My daughter bought one similar to this in Spain for the children. One day they woke to the garden being about 3 inches in water .It had for some reason ( she never found out how).Sprung a leak and there are gallons of water from them to leak out. What a scary thing she said, she woke to.Worse than a flood. So be carfull.I loved the pics but it brought back that memory to me straight away.I am happy the weather held out for you and you all had a wonderful time.Have a good Thursday Kath

Oh I know it was nice to have everyone over for a party. Your menu sounds delicious! What are your temperature highs there right now? We are having brutal days of over a hundred every day. The pool is our only relief if we are outside. I am glad you were able to have a good time before it rained. Its so nice to have everyone over sometimes isnt it. :) I am surprised you didnt take more pictures!

It takes 48 hours to fill it up, but how do you empty it?  Sounds as if you all had a great time anyway.

Your photograph of the kids watching the pool fill up took me a long way back when we first put a 24" steel wall pool down into the ground behind our house. Only it was my sister and I who were in the pool, cold water comes out of the hose from 250 feet deep, even in Florida.  Burr----yet it was so much fun.  We were like the little kids but we were in our fourties.  Tee Hee Hee.  Anyway, I'm so glad you had such a wonderful family day and everyone enjoyed the pool.

Blessings to you,

Hi Ally,

Firstly, I hope you enjoy your week end away.

I was pleased to see the 'cast' off Toby's leg and note that he is getting around now getting around without much effort.

Ear ache, well, I am pleased that your infection is much better now.  Isn't it strange that your ears effect you like that!

Although I have been to the area where you live, I do not think that I have been to Reepam, it looks to be a lovely place to visit.

By the way, I love the photos of the stream you found, it reminds me of a lovely spot I knew as a small boy and a place I have fond memories of.

By for now,

John.
