coincidence

Is this a coincidence or what ! ~ Tom and Cress came to visit us last Friday and as they were leaving Tom going first followed by me and as Lyn went to go out the door of she tripped on the step and went down~ hitting her head ~ sprained her wrist ~ grazed both knees ~ twisted her ankle ~ with a few other cuts and bruises ~ Tom not seeing what had happened turned round to see his Mum on her knees and rushed to help her up ~

We went back into the house and had a cup of tea (Our cure all treatment for anything) ~ Lyn was in quite a bit of pain ~ she pointed out that she could move all her fingers so didn't think she had broken her wrist ~ after a while Tom left but they returned Saturday with a big bunch of flowers and a big bar of chocolate for Lyn and to make sure she was OK ~

Lyn had a Birthday party to go to Saturday night ~ she did make it to the party but didn't do any dancing ~

Sunday Lyn and I were in the garden came through the gate leading to the side door ~ me leading the way and I tripped and went down ending up in exactly the same spot Lyn had fallen on the Friday ~ I hurt my left leg ~ A few tiny cuts on my hand ~ and scrapped my toes which were bleeding on my right leg and scuffed my knee which was very red but painless ~ painless because that is my Numb leg damaged when I had Radiotherapy so it didn't hurt at all :o)

My Mum always said things come in threes and she would always snap a match stick in two to stop the run of bad luck ~ Now I am not superstitious but then I don't believe in tempting fate ~ so after hunting for a match stick and snapping it into two pieces ~ we should now feel safe going out of that door and coming in that Gate next time :o) ~

do you drink the tea or rub it in the sore spot ;)

Oh, poor you and Lyn.........you really have been in the wars!  Hope there were no breakages.  Did you sit down facing one another with a cup of tea and break into laughter?? Not funny, I know.  Take care.  Eileenx

Soory Ally to hear about both of your falls and hope hope you recover soon. Is there something at thegate that is catching you when you come in that is not obvious you may well take a really close look. LOve and take care Joan.

I never heard of that action to stop the run of three, but I think I will keep it in mind, 'cause one never knows!  I hope you and your Lyn are on the mend now.  I wonder what it is about that spot that people are tripping there?  It hasn't rained or anything like that either.  Hhhmmmm . . . . .

Ally
Ouch!!!  I'm sorry to hear you and Lyn both have had mishaps.  I am just glad no one was seriously hurt.  Is there something that needs to be fixed or changed where you both tripped so that it doesn't happen again?  I'll have to remember the match stick thing to stop a run of bad luck.  Barney looks so cute sleeping with his new toy.

First of all Ally good to read a post from you and I got the usual laugh over Barney Haaaaaa.I wouldn't try to take that toy believe me LOL!!Now on a more seriuos note.I am so sorry you have both had them nasty falls. They don't half shake you up.Did you find anything that caused the trips or was it just a natural movement you both made.My neighbour used to have a doormat outside her flat and you could guarantee I would trip over it everytime I passed the door.approaching my door.LOL!!I have had some near scrapes. She moved and I got the flat she had,so no doormat outside now LOL!!The first job I did was to  throw it as far as I could Haaaa. What a lovely thought for Tom to bring flowers along.Hope she enjoyed the chocky and the party.I hope your hand soon heals and those nasty grazed toes.Loved the pic of Barney as usual.Have a lovely evening.Take Care God Bless Kath

I've heard that things come in threes too, usually deaths and funerals. Never heard of breaking a match to stop it though.
Hope you and Lyn are both okay. Think you might want to do something about that darn step, lol. B. x

I am sorry tha Lyn took a fall and hurt herself.    Also I'm sorry that you fell in the same place.    That must be an awkward step to have it happen twice, but then how many times has it been traveled with no problem at all?     Barney looks content asleep there.    One time I thought he looked older but now I see he is not old looking at all.     I hope Lyn has recovered and that her wrist is doing well.    Also that you are feeling well.     Does Barney ever let Nin have his toy?     mark

I have heard of breaking the match too ,just incase you thought you'd imagined it Allie lol that was one of my Mothers as well ,I hope both you and Lynn are feeling better after your falls ,even if you are not badly hurt it still shakes you up doesnt it ....love Jan xx

so sorry to hear thaat you have both been in the wars this weekend, i hope that you are both on the mend again,  I also snap matchsticks when similar things have happend twice,
love Lynne xx

I've never heard of snapping matchsticks.  You'll have to take care with your numb leg.  It must be very easy to injure yourself and not know it.  Are you OK now, both of you?
Angie, xx

I'm sorry you and Lyn have been in the wars Ally. I hope you two wounded soldiers are on the road to recovery now! You'll have to pad yourselves out to prevent further injury, it shakes you up when you fall doesn't it? Have a good week and be careful! Ally, my mother always said that about snapping matchsticks also.  I am superstitious and do that.  I'm not so sure how well it works but I certainly hope no one else falls in that spot.  Hope you and Lyn are mending.  Love xx Chris

I never heard of that supersition but I'll try and remember it for next time :-)  Ouchies at you and Lyn though for falling.  Did anybody get you some chocolate??

Oh Ally I hope you and Lyn both are not too sore from the falls. As you know, I seem to be notorious for falling down, falling off of steps, so I feel for you and Lyn. The older you get, the longer you stay down and wait it out til you feel like getting up, waiting for the pain and surprise to subside, all the while wondering..How did I manage to get down here???? I believe I would have snapped me a matchstick too after that happening in the same spot. Take care now! XOXO

What ever are you all tripping on.  Maybe you need to remove the step. lol  what a lovely graphic of the church.  Hope you are feeling better.  love, Shelly

Ally, I think you'd better get a match stick and snap it in two immediately - - just to be on the safe side! And DO something about that nasty step! I'm truly sorry to hear that both you & Lyn were injured by it.  We have one thing in common - I always love a good cup of tea to soothe my soul............(despite popular belief, plain old tea is better than a shot of tequila!)

:) My Mom has passed on similiar wisdom to me Ally.....didn't know about breaking a matchstick though.  I hope you two recover ok, kind of takes the wind out of your sails when you have a mishap.

Barney likes his comfort, I love how he's stretching his legs out. Rache

oh dear Calamity Janes the pair of you!!! hope you are both feeling a lot better after your trip. You might have to invest in that flouresent tape to stick near the area to remind you to be careful, and yes be superstious it often does happens in three`s.
