have just caught up

No you havn't accidentally come to e~bay these are just a few of the broaches I have collected (well not actually collected) they have been bought for me for Birthdays ~ Christmasses ~ brought back for me by  friends and  relatives from their holidays ~ but I just did not imagine there were so many of them and I havn't photographed them all not by far ~ there are still some scattered in different draws and box's ~ I must sort them all out and get rid of some ~ no one needs that many ~ perhaps I'll box some up and donate them to a charity shop ~

Back to more sensible things ~ Lyn was clearing the garage out and moved the Upright freezer underneath the little field mouse had built a nest and had a store of nuts not only that he had filled this jar with assorted seeds

Can only imagine how many trips he/she must have made to have gathered so many ~ you know us we returned the jar to a dark corner in the garage And as Joan pointed out we returned it on it's side so mousie could get in easily ~ had the Upright freezer ~ chest freezer and a television picked up from the garage and disposed of ~ but I am quite sure that field mouse will find another home in there somewhere ~ and it won't be in Lyn's walking shoes ~ she dosn't leave them in there anymore ~

Inspired by your photos I
finally got around to getting
a small digital camera that has
a cord with which to plug it
into the computer. I opened the
package. The tiny little palm-sized
thing has about thirteen external
buttons to push. Now I'm exhausted.
Haven't shot one single picture yet,
and my eye keeps wandering back to my
broken film camera made by the same
manufacturer. I was just becoming
intrigued by the fact that Kodak has
come out with a new, advanced
color film called "Professional Ultra Color."
One day soon (maybe and I hope) I'll
introduce you to Michael, age 4, via
a digital photo. He pulls faces, so plse don't mind.
Ha ha ha.

Hi Ally,  what a collection you have there. I like the little doggie brooches, especially the one that looks like a Westie.  Wow...the mouse did that all by himself? Clever mousie...lol! :o))

Hello Ally,

What a lovely collection of broaches you have.  I collect keyrings. I have collected them since I was nine years old, and as you can imagine, I have quite a collection now.

Best wishes,

That's a serious collection Ally! I love the dragonfly one and of course the cat ones! How sweet of the fieldmouse to put her seeds in a jar! Could only have been a little girl mouse to have stored them so neatly! Lol! Have a lovely weekend, nice to see you back! Jeannette xx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/

What a lovely entry Ally.  Love your brooches and also your jackets.  You are obviously a very smart lady.  As for parting with any of your jewellery - don't you EVER watch Antiques Roadshow!???  You could make a beautiful display or two with them all. Happy weekend.   Love, Angie, x

A shame to part with your broaches.... each one an individual... very nice outfits to go with your broaches...
send Lyn over to help my hubby clean out our garage... lol...
I think our mouse is still living behind our stove in the kitchen, haven't seen him lately but signs that he is still about....
Have a great weekend!
Linda :)

Love the broaches, but I can only focus on the mouse.  They freak me out.  I cannot even look at picture of a mouse.  :/

Your broach collection looks like mine.  The 9 years I worked in the hospital admitting department, I had to dress in business type suits.  I have tons of them.  I'm going to get them out, take some pictures and sell them on eBay.  Thanks for the idea!  That little mouse needs to move on.   Linda in Washington state

That is a pretty collection. I love them. Think twice before you get rid of any. I did that several years ago ( I didn't have nearly as many as you) and now I like to wear them again and wish I had certain ones. I especailly like animals. I take it Lyn doesn't like the little varment in her shoes. Paula

The Antiques Roadshow one of your commenters was referring to is on PBS here in the States.    It seems that anything that can be dated from an era perhaps in your grandchildren's future become collector's item's that keep increasing in value.     I know you are being kind but mice do eat into wiring insulation and I would not want them getting into your walls.   However it does seem to have a ready resource of food to stash away there in the rural area so you may not have to worry about that, lol.     mark

What an amazing collection of broahces.  The are beautiful and quite varried.  I know most of your readers think the mouse needs to go, but I am glad Lyn put the jar back on it's side for the mouse to have easy access to its cache of food.  The little critter is just trying to get along in life just as we all are.  It was good to see you on my alerts tonight, I enjoyed this entry.

Thanks for updating. I am beginning to worry. Your collection is massive and you have lovely pieces. Thought about displaying them? My friend bought a bulletin board, the sort that has a cork surface, and displayed her brooches and pins collection on it. It's quite a conversational piece and it makes her reminisce about the stories associated with each piece. Hugs to you, my friend.

Ally welcome back I have missed you!! being a magpie, I absolutely loved looking at your collection of brooches! they are so unusual too. The lady underneath made a good suggestion, I thought, about displaying them to enjoy. also Ally, I couldn't help but notice, you must have nearly as many jackets! lol....the little jar full of mouse treasures is the sweetest thing I have seen for ages, I am so glad you let him keep it...aw...Linda xx

Oh why get rid of the broaches!  If you enjoy them, keep them.  I have too many or too much of things I am sure, but if you enjoy them, indulge yourself.  My Mama loves books, you should see her book collection.  She had Daddy build a custom wall covering bookcase (he loves to build stuff) just for all, well not all, but most of her books! Y'all are kinder to that mouse than I would be.  I had an infestation in my garage in a matter of no time at all.  I bet I had 40 mice in there, babies and all.  They couldnt stay, they are so destructive.  So, your mouse is lucky to have a safe warm place to live there. :)

I think I like the scottie dog and the dragonfly on picture 24 the best.  They are all very beautiful.  Do you get the tv show Antiques Roadshow over there?  People bring in things handed down in their family, or things they found at a yard sale, or estate sale, things like that, to see what their worth is.  Of course most family heirlooms would never be sold, but its fun to find out how much things would go at auction.  Some things they have on there just floor me!  People bring in old toys, jewelry, furniture, all kinds of neat things.

Hi Ally, so glad you left the little mouse his winter store. He'll probably think he's been burgled when he sees the bottle on its side!. B. x

The brooches are lovely; quite an impressive collection, I must say.

I'm glad you didn't trap that mouse! He's very industrious, and I hope he finds a new home without being too much trouble.

Good to see you, as always.

I'm a broochaholic too!  I think they are the perfect accessory!  Thanks so much for sharing these with me.  My favourite one is the butterfly!  I have a bumblebee one that I just adore!

Hi Ally I have never seen so many broaches, you must have a lot of lovely freinds to buy you such lovely things.  The little mouse certainly has made its home in your garage. Storing stuff. Its a pitty you have to get rid of it. I have had a few in my gagare on occation but my Daisymay (the Cat) usually present them to me.  I have come down staires in the morning to find a lovely present awaiting me on the floor. Yuk a dead mouse. Daisymay does her job and is so proud of her catch. but I don't like anything dead.  I have to pick it up with a peice of tissue paper and bury it in the garden. Thats life. Kathie.

That certainly is quite a collection you have there ~ don't get rid of any it would be a shame :(  Glad the field mouse is happy and wow that must of been a lot of work for the little guy.

I got a big smile out of this one, Ally!
Only a British mouse would be tidy enough to store his nuts in a glass jar! Texas mice are a lot more messy...........         Jon

Heavens Ally, what a stunning collection !  I love the lily of the valley brooch, and all the little owls.  Tell the charity shop not to let them go for peanuts; some of them must be really valuable.  Thanks for giving us such a visual treat......Bunny xx

I have some broaches that belonged to both of my grandmothers.  I wouldn't part with them for any amount of money.  That is quite the collection you have there.

We live in the country, so we have had problems with field mice.  We also have squirrels trying to invade our attic!  That is why I have three cats to take care of the little varmints!

Have a blessed day!~
